The Faelar are one of the oldest remaining races that still exist in a large capacity on the material plane. It is unknown where they originate from, however, it is known that their births are primarily the result of the infusion of celestial power into a physical body, which acts as a vessel. They typically live for roughly 900 - 1200 years, so long as their intake of magical energy native to the material plane is not interrupted. Each Faelar is created - using a vessel and an abundance of celestial energy, which comes from the Bridging Constellation.
The vessel, or body, is made from hidden ancient materials scattered throughout the world, which are imbued with magical and celestial energy. This ritual is only known to be performed using the celestial energy from stars in the Bridging Constellation, in prime positions. The Faelar also consider this ritual to determine an individual's destiny. The appearance and attributes of each individual is also determined based on the moulding of the clay and the imbuing of energy. This is known, not as birth, but infusion.
The Faelar split into two practices and cultures long ago, separating from each other in day to day life. The two groups or 'clans' , known as the Practitioners and Dilettants are based around two different cultural and pseudo-religious beliefs - one based around magic and the other based around nature. (See Classes for more). As well as these differences, the Faelar have developed a cultural hierarchy, based on the purity of an individual. As certain ancient materials and components used in Infusion became rarer and rarer - an age old class system began to develop.
